Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

Saltmarch is operated by Saltmarch LLC ("Saltmarch", "we", "us"). We provide private shared-memory, media-sharing, and event-planning services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Saltmarch.

2. What Saltmarch is

Saltmarch lets invited people collect photos and videos in private Families, Communities, and Events. Members can contribute different perspectives to one shared memory, subject to the access and contribution settings for that space.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Provide accurate information. You may sign in with an email link or code, a text message code, or an optional password, depending on the methods available to your account.
• Keep your sign-in methods, recovery channels, devices, one-time codes, and active sessions secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or device is compromised.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• post content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or unsafe;
• post or share pornography, sexually explicit or exploitative material, graphic violence, or other content plainly unsuitable for a family-oriented service, including anything that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a child;
• impersonate others or misrepresent who you are;
• disrupt the service or violate someone else's rights.

If you wouldn't show it to your mother, don't put it on Saltmarch.

We scan uploaded media for safety and may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Private spaces and your content

Content in a private Family, Community, or Event is visible only to people who have access to that space. You keep your rights in the photos, videos, captions, and other content you contribute. You give Saltmarch only the permission needed to host, process, back up, synchronize, and show that content to authorized people.

Wherever you contribute, you confirm you have the right to add the content and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Our intellectual property

The Saltmarch name, logo, and software are ours. The permission in Section 5 does not grant rights to our brand or our code.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Saltmarch is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how account deletion affects data and content.

10. Event invitation text program

An authenticated Saltmarch user may deliberately request an Event invitation text for an individually selected recipient of a private, scheduled Event. Saltmarch sends one text per deliberate invitation request, with no automatic follow-ups or marketing enrollment. Events may include many deliberately selected guests, but this program is not for automatic contact-list blasts, purchased or scraped recipient lists, marketing, or recurring campaigns.

• You may invite a large guest list, but every text recipient must be deliberately selected for that Event. Do not use “Invite All,” mass contact imports, purchased or scraped recipient lists.
• By requesting a text, you confirm that you know each selected recipient and they expect this invitation.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop Saltmarch invitation texts. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected] .
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Receiving or opening an invitation link does not verify the recipient’s phone number or enroll the recipient in recurring texts. When the Event requests an RSVP, the recipient chooses whether they’re going in the Event.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll give notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
